This is the archive of the proceedings for the annual conference of the Midwest Association for Japanese Literary Studies (1992-1999).
The Midwest Association for Japanese Literary Studies was founded by Eiji Sekine in 1992 as an academic organization based in North America devoted to the study of Japanese literature from all periods. It was the only society in North America dedicated solely to the study of Japanese literature. The organization expanded to be national, then international, in scope, and in 1999 was renamed Association for Japanese Literary Studies.
