Call for Submissions and Editors - 2025
Posted on 2025-08-27Dear all,
The Brandeis Judaic Studies Journal is soliciting submissions for its next edition, to be published at the beginning of the 2026-2027 academic year. The Journal is edited and published by Brandeis undergraduates of all backgrounds and disciplines. Diverse perspectives and experiences are not only tolerated but encouraged and expected. We hope you will join our Journal and write for us!
The journal is also looking for editors to join our team. Ideal candidates should have an interest in copyediting and enjoy working collaboratively. Interested undergraduate students should email Co-Editors-in-Chief, Bailey Reum (breum@brandeis.edu) and Allan Feldman (alfeldman@brandeis.edu) to learn more.
For this year's journal, there will be no specific theme that submissions must adhere to. Those interested in being published are encouraged to submit academic work of their choosing related to the Jewish People and Judaism. These may include works in the larger scope of Near Eastern studies, but must emphasize or directly involve Jewish studies or Israel studies in its content. If you have written or are writing a paper for a NEJS, IMES, IGS, WGS or any other class with a Jewish focus and are interested in getting it published, this is a perfect opportunity to do so.
In a stroke of boldness, the Journal’s 2026-2027 issue will also feature selected creative works (poems, short stories) that are relevant to Judaic Studies. Submissions of creative works should be accompanied by brief explanation and/or personal analysis.
In addition to current undergraduates, the Journal will be accepting submissions from recent Brandeis alumni and current graduate students.
We will be accepting submissions until a deadline of March 20, 2026. You can submit your articles here.
Archived publications can be found here.
Editorial choices in publication do not reflect personal opinion nor organizational endorsement of published content. Rather, the Journal is meant to showcase diverse student works of superior quality related to Jewish studies by the larger Brandeis community.
Please reach out to any of our board members (Bailey Reum, Allan Feldman, Gabi Chiquiar-Rabinovich) with any questions, concerns, or feedback.
All the best,
Bailey Reum,
Allan Feldman
